About the Book
Brian Stewart presents a compelling story about growing up in Seattle in the 1970s and ’80s when his neighborhood was being transformed by influx of gangs and drugs, and the violence and crime that came with that. He relays how as a Black youth he learned to navigate the perils and eventually rise out of poverty and into a position where he can give back to his community. This book is an engaging and inspirational story and the prospect of using it as a foundation to achieve his goal of building a community center continuing his non-profit Milestone Adolescent Community Services to provide valuable resources and services to inner city youth is exciting.
